A rare and magnificent large 18th century antique French early rustic Louis style chestnut buffet. This piece has been bleached by age which we love. Some areas (the sides) have a sheen and are a darker. The top is quite thick and appears to have been sanded at some stage. here are two deep drawers and a large cupboard with a fixed height shelf. The locking door key is in place. The drawers have locks but no key. The escutcheon hardware is amazing. There is evidence of long gone borer as can be seen in the photos, primarily on the back and the bottom of the two front feet. (This is very usual and of no concern as all our items are treated by Government regulation upon arrival from France). The right hand door is slightly warped at the top as can be seen in a photo angle we have taken. This does not really detract and would be expected with a piece of this age. (There are ways to correct this) if of any concern. We have priced this well below its true value.
SIZE approx: 139.5cm wide x 106.5cm high x 65cm deep - Drawers size: 32.5cm wide x 42cm deep x 7cm high - Cupboard 50cm deep at bottom x 36cm high at top
