An antique French huge and heavy poissonniere with an iron handle. This is a fabulous 73cm long. These were traditionally used for cooking fish such as salmon and trout. It is in very good condition for its age of circa 1840. The exterior copper has a wonderful old and warm patina and it has a cast iron swing handle. Loving the copper handle holders at each end. This beautiful poissonnière would make a wonderful decorative, storage or display piece inside or outside the home and is ideal as a planter or jardiniere. They are also great for filling with ice for drinks at a gathering (or for cooking fish) :)
