A Rare Antique French Oak Carved Marriage Armoire - C093

A rare and magnificent 19th century antique French oak marriage armoire with amazing and important carvings & brass hinges and escutcheons. The top carved pediment is quite amazing. The locking key is in place. The interior has three fixed height shelves, (removable if hanging space is required), with the very bottom shelf having two drawers. There is a secret drawer behind the bottom carved panel. The left door hangs slightly lower than the right door which is mentioned for accuracy reasons. The French had a lovely tradition of gifting their children with a “Marriage Armoire” upon their wedding. This armoire is an example of the typical marriage armoire.
