This robust, solid and heavy antique French provincial monastery table dates to the early 20th century and exemplifies the rustic charm and enduring craftsmanship of traditional French country design. Crafted from solid oak, the table features a thick 4cm rough hewn slab top with a further 4.5cm edging added under which appears like a 9cm thick top. It has rounded edges and exposed grain that speaks to years of natural use and wear.

A shown there are timber separations on the base which does not affect the stability in any way, and long gone borer holes around the top edge which is of no concern as all our antique pieces are treated by government regulations upon arrival from France.

The table stands on two bold pedestal supports, each with shaped silhouettes and scroll-carved detailing, joined by a central stretcher for added strength and balance. The legs terminate in broad feet that ground the piece firmly. Its proportions and design make it an ideal table for dining, entertaining, or use as a statement kitchen island or display piece.

A true provincial classic, this table offers both visual warmth and practical durability, perfect for farmhouse interiors, country kitchens, or spaces that appreciate hand-wrought authenticity.
