A rare vintage French set of six “Proceram” turquoise faience oyster plates with the master oyster platter. These plates were made in the 1950's and are marked on the back with the makers mark and the number “59” for the year 1959. The Proceram Faience Factory was in the town of Aubagne in the South of France near Marseille. It is no longer in business. This rare and beautiful set has the distinct shell pattern manufactured by this factory. The set is in beautiful condition with the master platter having two chips on the underside edge (as shown) which is not really noticeable but must be mentioned for accuracy. The turquoise colour is the most desirable of these oyster plates. The bowl in the centre of each plate and platter is used for lemon wedges and/or sauce. It is extremely rare to find a set of six with the master platter. There are six matching oyster plates which are listed separately (without a master) should a 12 place setting be desired. (There are many reflections of the plates which are not cracks:)
SIZE approx: Plates 24cm diameter - Master Platter 35cm diameter
