An Antique French Art Deco Walnut & Marble Buffet Sideboard – Early 20th Century – G045

This elegant antique French buffet sideboard dates to the early 20th century and beautifully blends elements of the late Art Deco era with traditional craftsmanship. Crafted from walnut and topped with a richly veined marble, this piece offers refined curves and subtle detailing that highlight its stylish silhouette and quality materials.

The cabinet features a three-drawer configuration above a central cupboard flanked by two curved side doors. The central door is carved with a stylised basket of fruit — a nod to traditional French decorative symbolism — while the drawers are framed by angled fluting, adding architectural interest. Original oval brass handles remain intact, adding contrast and patina. The cupboard door locks have been removed at some stage but two keys are included to act as door pulls.  There is a brass plaque under the right door lock but none on the left door which is mentioned for accuracy reasons.

The marble top is beautifully shaped with no cracks or repairs.  There are minor chips on the edges as shown in the photos. The marble top is not attached so can be packed well for transport.

With its graceful bowed front, shapely legs, and polished walnut grain, this buffet is an ideal piece for stylish interiors seeking French elegance with a warm and grounded character.
