An exceptional antique French solid chestnut monastery dining table with an H stretcher base, end drawer (with an added cutlery divider at some stage which could be removed) and turned legs. This 19th century table is 231cm long, has been crafted with dowel construction and is extremely heavy and solid. The solid chestnut planked top is of an amazing 4.5cm thickness. Overall there are old and long gone borer holes (as most genuine antique French furniture will have old borer holes - this is of no concern as all our pieces are treated by government regulation upon arrival from France). There is just some damage to one foot and one of the leg spindles as shown and could be expected from a piece of this age. A wonderful antique French find which will need four people to lift.
SIZE approx: 231 cm long x 90 cm deep x 75.5 cm high -- 60 cm high under table skirt - - 4.5 cm thick top - - drawer size 43 cm wide x 48 cm deep x 5.5 cm high
