Condition – Restoration Required
PLEASE NOTE: This antique settee is being sold as a restoration project and requires attention to the timber frame before use.
Some joints appear to have been previously repaired. The joints are currently loose, resulting in movement and wobbliness throughout the settee. The frame will require re-glueing and appropriate restoration to make it structurally sound.
The upholstery is in quite reasonable antique condition overall, although it would benefit from cleaning. There are approximately three or four areas where the fabric has worn through, as shown in the photographs.
The timber frame displays some knocks and marks around the legs and back, consistent with its age and history.
As is common with antique French furniture, there are some old wood-borer holes. All our imported furniture undergoes the required biosecurity treatment upon arrival in Australia.
