A quality antique French (19th century) Walnut and Marble Dressing Chest or Vanity. A superb piece as is but it is also ideal for a bathroom or ensuite as a washstand with basin. The large wide bevel edged mirror has a central crest which is set off by ornately carved foliate scrolls and attractive scrolling supports. The veined white marble top has an inset drip groove to its front which makes this perfect as a bathroom vanity. There is also a marble upper shelf and marble supports. The chest has two short over three long drawers which are adorned with Louis XV style ormolu handles. It has a beautifully shaped apron. The mirror can be removed and placed on the wall separately above the vanity if desired as the base can be used on its own.
