A charming and sturdy antique French Louis XVI style painted armchair (fauteuil), featuring original tapestry upholstery and a beautifully shaped white frame with floral carvings and worn gilt accents.

This piece is a delightful example of classic French craftsmanship.

The oval padded backrest, seat, and armrests are upholstered in an elegant needlepoint floral tapestry, showcasing romantic bouquets in soft pink, cream, and olive tones.

The frame features hand-carved floral motifs, fluted legs, rosettes on the corners, and is painted in a creamy white finish that shows some wear from age with chippy paint.  The upholstery needs a clean.

The subtle distressing of the painted timber adds to its authentic antique charm, while the shapely form and sturdy construction remain timeless and practical.
