An extremely elegant 19th century bookcase or vitrine, display cabinet in oak. There are a pair of original wide bevelled glazed doors fitted with original working locks and key. The base has oak beautifully carved panels and a full width drawer underneath. This is all flanked by reeded columns with carved capitols and standing on original bun feet. The lock has been removed from the drawer and it would be advantageous to add a pull to make opening the drawer easier. The interior has four height adjustable shelves. There are separations in the wood panels on the tops of both sides and the front top carvings which is mentioned for accuracy reasons. This antique bookcase retains its original finish, stunning colour and patina, circa 1880.
