This is an absolutely stunning and rare antique French heavily carved oak compromise clock in beautiful and working condition. Both the case and the internal clock are impossible to fault. The heavily embossed brass clock has an enamel face bearing the name “Le Couve” "á Napoleonville.” It keeps good time and chimes on the hour and seems to only lose a couple of minutes a day which is easy to correct by moving the minute hand or making an adjustment. Original pendulum, weights and a key are in place. This would have to be one of the best compromise clocks we have ever seen.
