An Antique French Renaissance Revival Oak Chest of Drawers – Circa 1880 – G060

This handsome antique French chest of drawers dates to the late 19th century and is crafted in the Renaissance Revival style. Built from solid French oak, the chest is deeply carved and richly detailed, reflecting the craftsmanship and decorative sensibilities of the period.

The chest features five drawers in total — a pair of small upper drawers and three full-width lower drawers. Each drawer is adorned with elegant brass drop handles, shield escutcheons, and elaborate carved panels with scrolling foliate motifs. The front corners are framed with architectural turned columns, lending the piece both grandeur and vertical emphasis.

Raised on turned bun feet and finished with a stepped and moulded plinth base, this piece has a warm, aged oak patina and offers generous storage. A decorative and practical addition to a traditional interior, this chest is both functional and full of old-world charm.

This piece retains two locking keys which lock all drawers except one of the small drawers.  Some minor usage marks which would be expected for a chest of this age.  The top has some strange markings as shown which is mentioned for accuracy reasons.
