A nineteenth century antique French duck press made from wood, iron and tin. This press dates from c.1880. Duck presses were made for the preparation of a dish “Canard a la Presse” or pressed duck which was prepared at the table. It is a complex dish which originated in Rouen in the 19th century. In working condition with quite a few long gone borer (holes) which are of no concern as all our pieces are treated by government regulation. This is usual with pieces from France.
SIZE approx: 28.5cm wide x 16.5cm deep x 38 high then the handle is wound down - 3.2kg
