This bold and substantial antique French oak armoire dates to the late 19th century and is executed in the Gothic Revival style, notable for its architectural structure and mythical carved motifs. Built from solid oak with a deep, mellow patina, it combines strong vertical lines with sculptural ornamentation that reflects the grandeur of medieval French design.

The double doors feature recessed panels and lower sections adorned with stylised dragon or griffin-like beasts, framed by acanthus foliage in full relief. Carved rosettes and fluted pilasters add structure and rhythm to the front, while a strong cornice top crowns the piece. Internally, the armoire offers spacious storage and can be fitted with shelving or a hanging rail to suit modern use.

Perfect for use as a linen press, wardrobe, or statement storage in large interiors, this is a dramatic and highly collectible piece of period French craftsmanship.
