A striking and deeply ornate example of the French Hunt style, this antique oak desserte buffet dates to the late 19th century and showcases exquisite hand-carved detail throughout. Bold and theatrical in presence, the piece features a carved red marble top surface, which contrasts beautifully with the rich, dark oak frame.

The upper section is adorned with a pierced crest and central lion mask, flanked by scrolling foliage and finely carved detailing. Below, the display shelf is supported by two intricately carved winged griffins, adding dramatic and mythical character. The back panel is fully carved with foliate designs, lending depth and texture behind the display area.

The lower cabinet doors feature large, high-relief hunting scenes, one depicting a stag and the other a hound — both framed in foliage. Deep barley twist columns and heavily moulded trim frame the front, while the base shelf provides additional open storage. This is a bold, sculptural piece, ideal for dramatic interiors seeking authentic 19th-century French craftsmanship.
