Antique French Oak Coffre Trunk Chest Original Rustic Carved Provincial - B042

This is a rare and very early (circa early 1800’s or maybe earlier) antique French rustic provincial coffre or trunk/chest. The very old warm and time worn oak patina just cannot be captured in photographs. The carvings are amazing. This is very heavy and sturdy with just some long gone old borer holes in the back (which is of no concern as all our pieces are treated by Government regulation upon arrival from France). There is a wonderful old escutcheon but no lock inside. Please use the photographs as the main part of the description. An important and rare piece which would make quite a statement in any room of the home.
