Antique French Rare Armoire Bonnetiere Oak Louis Style c1800’s - C185

A very early mid 19th century rare antique French Louis style oak single door armoire (bonnetiere) with bevelled glass mirror and intricate carvings. The armoire features dowel construction. One dowel is missing top right (mentioned for accuracy) and the door which has a large original locking key dips slightly to the left side due to age. There are as usual with French antiques long gone borer holes mainly in the back and side but this piece is very sturdy and heavy. (All our pieces are treated by government regulations upon arrival from France). There have been repairs through the years with the right back leg being partially replaced and the interior painted Matt black. The depth is perfect for hanging, just add a hanging rail. Shelves could be added if desired. A rare old piece which has been priced well.

SIZE approx: 224 cm high, 119 cm wide pelmet, 101 cm wide body, 76 cm deep. -- interior 195 cm high, 95 cm wide, 58 cm deep
