Antique French Rare Walnut Writing Desk Bureau c1840 - FR043

A superb and very old (circa 1840 or earlier) antique French rustic walnut writing desk or bureau. This is a very solid piece which was found near Paris. It retains its locking key. This would be ideal for using with a laptop. The old dowel construction is wonderful. The bottom cupboard has a fixed height shelf (there are some holes which have been cut out in the back for some weird reason which is of no concern). There are age separations on the sides which is mentioned for accuracy reasons and some long ago borer holes (which are of no consequence and usual with genuine French antiques) as all our items are treated by Government regulations upon arrival from France). We have priced this piece well below its true value. The aged and warm patina of the solid aged walnut is also worth mentioning.
