A richly detailed antique French Renaissance Revival sideboard,
dating to the late 19th century (circa 1880–1900),
crafted in dark-stained solid oak with outstanding architectural and sculptural elements.
This handsome cabinet features a stately symmetrical façade
with four vertical panels carved in low relief with columns, swags, and borders,
centred by two full-length cabinet doors and flanked by fixed side panels.
Each upper corner is adorned with bold figural lion masks
beneath shaped corbels, adding visual strength and historic character.
Two full-width drawers with shaped brass handles sit below the thick moulded top,
while a wide plinth base with turned bun feet anchors the piece with classic grandeur.
The oak timber has a rich, reddish-chocolate tone,
with a deeply burnished finish and beautiful grain movement throughout.
Internally, the generous storage makes this sideboard both beautiful and functional —
ideal for use in dining rooms, entryways, or as a dramatic living room feature.
Presents in excellent antique condition,
with minor marks and wear consistent with age.
