This is an amazing piece - a beautifully carved antique French Breton style chestnut bench and it is a sight to behold. There is fabric behind the spindles which can be seen in the photos which could be kept, replaced or removed altogether if desired. (Fabric being used behind spindles is usual with antique Breton furniture). This would make a wonderful hall seat as it has storage space under the seat which would be great for shoes, blankets etc. The seat and the front feet have some usage marks (which we have left) and the seat has a warp which is mentioned for accuracy reasons as this is a 19th century piece.
