This charming vintage French bureau de dame or writing desk was crafted in oak in the mid 20th century in the Louis XV style. With its elegant proportions and finely carved decoration, it offers both practical storage and timeless decorative appeal.

The fall-front writing panel features ornate carved scrollwork and shell motifs, opening to reveal a fitted interior with compartments for writing essentials. Below, three shaped drawers are adorned with rococo carvings and retain their original antique brass handles and escutcheons. The whole piece rests on elegant cabriole legs, each gently carved and terminating in traditional scroll feet.

The oak timber displays a warm, honeyed patina and rich grain detail, enhanced by time and gentle use. An exquisite example of feminine French furniture, ideal for use in a study, bedroom, or hallway vignette.
