* purchase not required *
A charming vintage French Art Deco wooden coffee grinder, beautifully crafted in lovely light golden timber and retaining all the character of traditional French country kitchenware.
This delightful working French coffee grinder features a traditional square wooden body, a metal grinding mechanism with a domed cover and a hand-operated crank with a bakelite turning knob.
The lower drawer, complete with its original Art Deco Bakelite knob, was designed to collect the freshly ground coffee. A black adjustment knob on the top is believed to control the coarseness of the grind, although this has not been confirmed.
The timber has a beautiful warm golden colouring with natural variations in the grain, while the metalwork has developed an attractive aged patina with some areas of surface rust, adding to its authentic rustic character.
A wonderful decorative and practical piece for a French Provincial kitchen, country farmhouse or rustic interior. Particularly charming displayed on an antique kitchen dresser, open shelving or a timber countertop alongside French pottery and vintage kitchen accessories.
