Antique French Literary Collection – Three Early 20th Century Half-Leather Bound Volumes with Original Publisher's Wrappers

A charming and highly decorative collection of three antique French literary works dating from the early twentieth century, professionally bound in matching green half-leather bindings with gilt lettering and marbled boards

Each volume retains its original publisher's wrapper bound inside the covers, a desirable feature often lost when books were rebound. Of particular note is Pour L'Amour de Geneviève by José Germain, a numbered limited edition printed on Lafuma paper, retaining its original wrappers, original spine, and publisher's catalogue leaves.

The collection comprises:

• Pour L'Amour de Geneviève – José Germain

• William Dixon et son Amour – Gabriel Silaine

• Le Dernier Mammouth – Raymond Auzias-Turenne

These books remain wonderfully evocative examples of French publishing from the Belle Époque and early Art Deco period, equally suited to a collector, French library, study, or decorative interior.

Condition: Very good antique condition overall. The bindings remain sound and attractive, with gilt titles clearly visible and the marbled boards beautifully preserved. All three volumes retain their original publisher's wrappers bound within the covers, with the limited edition volume also retaining its original spine and catalogue leaves. Internal pages are generally clean and well-presented, displaying only the light age-related wear expected of books of this period. Authentic light foxing to text block edges, consistent with age.

A beautifully matched and increasingly difficult-to-find decorative French literary set.

Please use the photos as part of the condition report.  We are not antiquarian book experts - our antique and vintage books were acquired in France from estate sales. Please feel free to explore your own research and ask questions if desired.
