French Art Deco Leather-Bound Literary Book Collection – Three Volumes – Le Livre de Demain Series – Original Wood Engravings – c.1924–1932 - FB17

This elegant collection of three matching French leather-bound literary works represents a wonderful example of the celebrated Le Livre de Demain ("The Book of Tomorrow") series published by Arthème Fayard in Paris during the Art Deco period.

Professionally bound in matching half-leather with raised bands, gilt titles and decorative floral tooling, these volumes were almost certainly rebound for a private library, creating a refined and highly decorative collection that displays beautifully.

Two of the volumes contain extensive original wood engravings commissioned for the prestigious Le Livre de Demain series, a remarkable publishing venture begun in the early 1920s which paired leading French authors with some of the finest wood engravers of the era. Today these editions are collected not only for their literature but also for their striking Art Deco illustrations.
