A beautifully proportioned vintage French Louis XV style oak sideboard, featuring wonderful carved detail, elegant Louis shaped legs and a warm, rich oak finish.
This substantial French buffet has a particularly attractive long, low profile, with four panelled cupboard doors and four central drawers, providing an exceptional amount of practical storage while retaining the elegance and decorative character associated with traditional French furniture.
The cupboard doors are beautifully detailed with shaped moulded panels and ornate carved floral and foliate motifs. Further carving embellishes the drawer fronts, apron and feet, while the raised decorative back features a particularly lovely central carved shell motif – a classic element of Louis XV inspired design.
The central bank of four drawers retains traditional decorative brass handles, while the shaped apron and graceful cabriole-style feet soften the substantial proportions of the piece. The key is in place.
The warm oak colouring and visible timber grain give this sideboard wonderful character. Its generous top provides an ideal surface for displaying a large mirror, artwork, lamps, antique ceramics or decorative objects.
A fabulous statement piece that combines French country elegance with excellent storage, equally at home in a traditional French Provincial interior or contrasted against a more contemporary setting.

Condition
Presented in good vintage condition with appropriate signs of age and use.
The top has some dents, knocks, stains and scratches as shown in the photographs. The left leg has some water-like marks or scratches, while the interiors of the drawers are slightly marked or stained.
The left storage area has contact paper to the bottom. There is currently no middle shelf, although one could be added if desired.
The right storage area also has contact paper and includes one fixed-height shelf.
